The recent establishment of the ASSMN (Asian Society of Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition) marks a momentous milestone in our history. As we embark on this journey together, our partnerships and collaboration will be the key to our development, so we welcome all your enthusiastic participation in our mission going forward.

Our Society´s mission is to promote and advance the science and practice of Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition in Asia. A changing environment with unprecedented challenges has forced us to rethink how best to fulfil this mission.

The need for a transformative approach is driven by the changing expectations, needs and demands of our members and partners, by an altered medical landscape, and by technological evolution. Without question, the pandemic has made some of the required changes very obvious and accelerated the process. By adapting, we will secure the Society’s sustainability.

We will build ASSMN's assets based on the diversity of our members, our collective knowledge and expertise, and our multiple committees and working groups. These will be the solid base on which to build our future. In addition, we will develop the ASSMN into one of the world’s leading societies in Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition.

We can look to the future with optimism and move forward with purpose.
